Designing a Conceptual Pattern of E-Learning for Iran’s Universities of Medical Sciences

Background: Over the last number of decades there has been a shift in medical education practice from traditional forms teaching to other media which employ online, distance or electronic learning. E-learning can provide students with easier and more effective access wider variety greater quantity information. Objectives: The present study aimed design conceptual pattern e- learning for Iran’s universities Medical Sciences. Methods: This was applied terms objective qualitative data collection. population e-learning experts faculty members who sampled purposefully, after 30 interviews, saturation achieved. A semi-structured questionnaire used interview. analyzed using three- stage codings. Results: Sciences categorized following dimensions, including: "academic dimension" including components synergogy instructional design, human resources, infrastructure, management, organization, financial ethics & culture, support, monitoring coordination, legal factor; "spatial planning regions includes educational activities, research information technology- related activities; "national-macro government’s structural managerial supports, cultural social economic scientific technical supports higher education, private sector; "regional – international interactions, political, interactions. Conclusions: suggested that policy-makers, top managers those charge exploit proposed this developing policies programs creating/developing centers, sufficiently address categories, indicators mentioned here, so long-term effects operationalizing each category be demonstrated optimally quickly. In way, costs reduced, repeat work avoided (especially face environmental crises), Iranian progress line world thereby take big step towards successful implementation Iran.
